SENSAFLOAT is a unique special needs swimming and floatation aid designed to facilitate relaxation and movement in water for people with profound and multiple impairments. It also has applications for children and adults across the whole spectrum of additional needs.
High motivation increases therapeutic value, as the user is keen to play on it again and again.
Sensafloat was invemted in the early 1990s by Eddy Anderson - the founder of Rebound Therapy. In 1993, Eddy was presented with the 'CBI / Toshiba Invention of the Year' award for the product design.
For nearly thirty years, Sensafloat has been used in hydrotherapy pools by therapists, swimming teacher and SEN teachers.
The online Sensafloat training course comprises five steps:
1) Study of the reading material
2) Study of the video of practical aspects
3) Completion of the assessment paper
4) Practical assessment by video (You will be asked to get someone to film you on a mobile phone while you demonstrate the teaching points of some key skills.)
You may complete the program as quickly or as slowly as you wish and you will have access to the ReboundTherapy.org office by email at all times for help and assistance with the course.
When all steps are completed you will have completed the course and we will send you your course completion certificate and validation number.
You will be allocated your own personal course tutor who will guide you through the training course and who will be available to you at any time for help and guidance.
The cost of the Sensafloat online training course is £117 (plus VAT if a UK citizen)
